TREES AND CONSTRUCTION
It's amazing how often construction projects are designed to showcase the trees, and then due to ignorance or negligence, those very trees are damaged beyond salvage during the construction process. The vast majority of architects, developers and building contractors do not have the knowledge to successfully preserve trees. Remarkably, many of the techniques for tree preservation are simply using common sense and observation.
It is not uncommon that arborists are called in the later stages of a project just before ground-breaking. All the project planning, specifications and money may have been wasted since it is possible that the trees which are being retained are not worth saving or the specifications will not protect the trees. Therefore, we recommend you hire us before spending significant money on other professionals. This will help to set the stage for a coordinated planning team approach to your project long before any plans are drawn.
If you don't live in our geographic area and are planning a construction project contact the American Society of Consulting Arborists or the International Society of Certified Arborists for a qualified arborist in your area (see our links page).
