WILDLIFE HABITAT CREATION

Our arborists are fascinated by the many roles that trees play in the world. One of these is as a source of food and shelter for many insects, birds and other animals. This includes cavities, perches, snags, and other forms of deadwood for animal food and shelter. Using chainsaws, drills and some manmade materials we have created osprey perches as well as artificial cavities for animals like flickers, owls, nuthatches and bats. Trees have been left as high stumps and snags with and without artificial cavities as requested by our clients. This is a relatively easy and fun aspect of tree care that also strengthens the diversity within our animal and plant communities.
